Whether the project is for a new building or for the refurbishment and/or rehabilitation of an existing one, it will comprise various phases and involve a great variety of firms and professionals. A discrepancy oftenarises between the forecast and reality in terms of the finished results, time periods, or price, which in no way casts doubt on the professionalism of any of the involved craftsmen, but does indicate a grave lack of communication between them. As the facilitator of solutions for the contracted firms, the “project manager” is the first person of contact and the guarantee of the best interests of the owner.
